India E-commerce FDI Rules Modified for Exports

India's Finance Ministry has notified new Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) rules allowing e-commerce companies with Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to maintain inventory solely for the purpose of exporting goods of Indian origin. These updated norms restrict inventory-based business-to-consumer (B2C) sales within the domestic market. The economic affairs department of the Finance Ministry issued the notification for these changes.
