Bihar Floods: Rivers Exceed Danger Levels, Affecting Multiple Districts
In Bihar, eight rivers, including the Ganga, have surpassed their danger marks, leading to a severe flood situation affecting 13 districts. The water level of the Ganga in Patna has reached 1.77 meters above the danger level at Gandhi Ghat. In Buxar, the Ganga and Karmanasha rivers are also above danger levels, disrupting daily life. In Lakhisarai, several villages in the Diara region are submerged. The district administration is on alert. In Bhagalpur, while erosion at the Raghopur-Kazikoraiya embankment has stabilized, rising Ganga water levels pose a flood risk, forcing the relocation of a community kitchen. In Mirzapur, the Ganga's water level began to recede after reaching 76.10 meters. The situation has prompted authorities to issue warnings and prepare for potential 2016-like flood conditions.
