August Vehicle Sales Show Significant Growth, Led by Electric and Bajaj Auto
Vehicle sales in India experienced a substantial increase in August 2026. Electric car sales saw a year-on-year rise of 53%, with Tata Motors leading the segment, accounting for 43% of the total electric car sales. In the broader automotive market, Bajaj Auto reported strong performance, selling a total of 535,764 vehicles in August 2026, a 28% increase compared to August 2025. This growth was partly attributed to an increase in exports.
