Police seize multi‑state drug caches and arrest traffickers across India
Police operations in several Indian states resulted in the seizure of large quantities of illicit drugs and the arrest of multiple suspects. In Noorpur, Uttar Pradesh, authorities recovered 260 g of heroin hidden in a motorcycle compartment and arrested a youth, according to Dainik Bhaskar. A campaign overseen by the Senior Superintendent of Police in Faridkot, Punjab, led to the destruction of 4.9 kg of cannabis and 3.434 kg of heroin across 31 cases. In Katra, Himachal Pradesh, a 19‑year‑old trafficker was taken into custody and heroin valued at about ₹70 lakh was recovered, with the case registered under the NDPS Act. In Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, a car stop yielded MD‑type drugs worth ₹10 lakh and the arrest of five men from Indore, Khargone and Barwani. Additionally, police in Bhojpur‑Ara, Bihar, seized 20 kg of cannabis, a motorcycle, a mobile phone and cash while arresting a smuggler. The arrests and seizures are being investigated under existing drug‑control laws.
