Israel clears Hezbollah tunnels in southern Lebanon amid renewed fighting
Israel's military announced it had cleared tunnels used by Hezbollah fighters beneath the strategic Ali Taher Hill ridge in southern Lebanon. The tunnels were reported to contain a command centre, kitchen and shower facilities. Israeli airstrikes and artillery in recent weeks hit the area, killing three Lebanese civilians and wounding 23, despite a truce that had been in place. Hezbollah continued to launch drone attacks against Israeli forces on the hill. Israeli drones also dropped bombs on the town of Mansouri, killing two people. Reports said Israel freed four (AP) to five (Al Jazeera) Lebanese prisoners in a US‑mediated deal linked to missing Jews from Lebanon's civil war.
