China's Oil Demand Drops Amid EV Surge, Experts Note
China's oil consumption has significantly decreased, attributed to the rapid adoption of electric vehicles (EVs). Climate and energy researcher Mark Z. Jacobson stated that the displacement of oil demand by EVs indicates a potentially accelerated transition away from fossil fuels in the transportation sector. Restricted oil imports have also contributed to speeding up electrification within China.
