Argentine court orders return of Nazi-looted painting
An Argentine court has ordered the return of a Nazi-looted painting, "Portrait of a Lady," to the heir of its original Jewish owner. The late-baroque artwork was lost for 80 years before being identified in photographs of a house for sale near Buenos Aires. The current owners, a couple, agreed to return the painting, valued at approximately $400,000, after the daughter of a fugitive Nazi official dropped her claim. The painting was originally looted from a Jewish art dealer during World War II.
