Rescuers Save Multiple Individuals from Nepal Flood Tunnel After 10 Days
Rescuers in Nepal have successfully extracted multiple individuals, including a Chinese national and a woman, from flood-affected areas and a hydropower tunnel. The rescues occurred 10 days after flash floods hit the Himalayan nation. A Chinese national was pulled alive from a hydropower tunnel in Nuwakot on Saturday, 10 days after the floods. Separately, a woman was rescued from a home in Nuwakot, and a man was found in a tunnel at a hydropower project in Rasuwa. Indian and Nepali rescue teams worked to drain floodwaters and create paths for heavy equipment within the Chilime tunnel. Approximately 900 workers are reported missing from 12 hydropower projects across Nepal.
