Heavy Rain Causes Disruptions in Delhi, Flights Diverted
Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms lashed parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) on Friday afternoon, causing significant waterlogging and disruptions. The Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport experienced waterlogging, particularly at Terminal 3, leading to the diversion of nine flights. Four flights were diverted to Jaipur, four to Lucknow, and one to Ahmedabad. Traffic was also affected in areas like Gurugram due to waterlogged roads. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a red alert for heavy rain in Delhi and a yellow alert for Saturday.
