Odisha Enhances Accident Aid for Government School Students
The Odisha government has expanded its ex-gratia assistance scheme for students involved in accidents. The enhanced coverage now includes students from Sishu Vatika up to Class XII studying in government and government-aided schools, as well as those in Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs) and Odisha Model Adarsha Vidyalayas (OMAVs). Under the revised scheme, students will receive Rs 2 lakh in case of death or permanent disability due to an accident. Additionally, the government will provide up to Rs 30,000 to cover travel expenses related to the accident.
