Woman with Pica Disorder Undergoes Surgery for Ingested Objects
Doctors in Prayagraj successfully operated on a woman suffering from Pica disorder, removing a variety of inedible objects from her stomach and intestines. The items included needles, hairpins, bangles, and glass fragments. The surgery, which lasted approximately two and a half hours, was complex due to intestinal perforations caused by some of the needles, with two needles reaching the right kidney. The C-arm technique was used during the procedure to extract the objects.
