Heavy Rains Cause Flooding and Disrupt Services Across India
Heavy rainfall has led to significant flooding and disruptions in several parts of India. In Bihar, the Ganga River has breached its highest flood mark in Patna, submerging homes and settlements, prompting the deployment of 33 rescue teams and 700 boats. Rivers in five Bihar districts are flowing above danger levels, with flood threats looming. Meanwhile, Delhi experienced waterlogging and traffic snarls due to showers, with the minimum temperature dropping to 24.8°C. In West Bengal, rail services were affected as tracks eroded due to rain, and the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) released water, raising flood fears, particularly in Ghatal which was submerged again. Aligarh also saw rain impacting Janmashtami celebrations and temple crowds.
