UN launches new "Equal Earth" map that depicts India larger
At the United Nations General Assembly, a new world map projection called "Equal Earth" was introduced. The projection redraws the visual representation of countries, altering their relative sizes on the map. In this version, India appears larger than on many conventional maps. Mathrubhumi described the map as reshaping the mental geography of power by making India look bigger. DNA reported the unveiling of the new projection at the UN General Assembly.
