Census Schedule Shifted in Four Election States
The schedule for the final phase of the census has been changed in four states: Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Punjab, and Uttarakhand. The counting process will now commence on December 1, 2026, and conclude on January 4, 2027. This adjustment is reportedly due to the upcoming assembly elections in these states.
