Punjab Police Arrest Over 25,000 in Anti-Drug Campaign
Punjab police have arrested over 25,000 individuals in a campaign against drug trafficking and addiction. The Safe Punjab Helpline facilitated more than 25,000 drug-related arrests since March 2025. During the operation, authorities seized 6.2 million tablets and capsules, along with substantial quantities of heroin, opium, and other narcotics. The campaign also recovered significant amounts of suspected drug money and registered numerous commercial cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The state's approach combines drug enforcement with addiction treatment initiatives.
