Russian Envoy: India Buys Oil for Development, Not to Aid Russia
Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov stated that India purchases oil from Russia for its own development and energy security needs, not to help Russia circumvent sanctions or fund the war in Ukraine. He clarified that India's actions are driven by its national interests. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has previously defended India's position, asserting that not buying Russian oil would not stop the conflict.
