Malaysia lifts Sarawak emergency as fire haze eases

Malaysia has lifted the state of emergency in the Serian district of Sarawak, following an easing of fire haze. The decision was made with the consent of Malaysian King Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, based on advice from Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Sarawak Premier Abang Johari Openg. Despite the lifting of the emergency declaration, air quality in the region remains poor.
