Telangana Assembly Session Begins Amidst Protests and Detentions
The monsoon session of the Telangana Assembly commenced on September 7, marked by protests and disruptions. BJP members entered the Well of the House, demanding a judicial inquiry into land deals, leading to a 14-minute adjournment. Separately, BRS leaders KTR and Harish Rao were briefly detained outside the Assembly while protesting against the ruling Congress party. The BRS also called for statewide protests after some of its MLAs and MLCs were reportedly barred from entering the Assembly. Security was heightened around the Assembly premises for the session, where heated exchanges were anticipated.
