Tesla's driverless Cybercabs face US regulatory scrutiny
Tesla has deployed its driverless Cybercab vehicles, which lack steering wheels and pedals, onto the streets of Austin, Texas. CEO Elon Musk described the Cybercab as a "super comfortable lounge on wheels with a great TV and epic sound." However, the U.S. vehicles regulator is investigating the situation. Musk sent dozens of these vehicles onto the streets in a move that bets on Americans overcoming fears of rides without direct control.
