Sebi eases compliance rules for foreign investors in government bonds
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has relaxed certain compliance requirements for Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) whose investments are solely in government securities. This move aims to simplify the process for these specific investors. The revised norms pertain to the disclosure of investor groups. Previously, FPIs faced stricter disclosure obligations, which are now being eased for those exclusively holding government bonds.
