Maharashtra FDA Chief Intensifies Food Safety Checks for Festivals
Tukaram Mundhe, the chief of Maharashtra's Food and Drug Administration (FDA), has intensified actions against food adulteration. The FDA is implementing a year-round food safety monitoring plan, which includes starting checks 21 days before major festivals. In response to these intensified checks, Mumbai Ganesh mandals have requested clarity from the FDA regarding Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for serving 'mahaprasad' during festivals.
