PM Modi Urges Fintech Sector to Expand UPI's Global Reach
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged the Indian fintech sector to expand the reach of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) beyond India, connecting it with payment systems in more countries. Speaking at the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026, Modi highlighted UPI as a "big champion" of India's "amazing" fintech story and called for deeper links with overseas payment systems.
