Meta India Chief Summoned Over Alleged Child Abuse Material Ads
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has summoned the Meta India chief in response to allegations that the company ran over 300 advertisements containing suspected child sexual abuse material (CSAM). An NGO reportedly flagged these ads, which allegedly promoted CSAM, including material suspected to be AI-generated. A BBC Eye investigation also found Instagram running paid advertisements promoting such material in India. The NCPCR's summons is a direct response to these reports and allegations.
