Rajasthan Youth Face High Unemployment, Low-Wage Jobs Predominate
Unemployment among graduates and above in Rajasthan is 33%, according to a report. The majority of new jobs created in the state over the past seven years have been in agriculture, which saw its share of young workers increase from 39.3% to 47.0%. A separate study indicates that nearly half of Rajasthan's young workers are employed in sectors offering an average wage of Rs 7,110. Rajasthan hosts over 3 million registered enterprises, with 99% classified as micro-businesses, and approximately 90% of businesses employing at most two workers.
