US Iran War Costs $38 Billion, Depletes Munitions: Report
A report by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that the war in Iran has cost the United States approximately $38 billion. The conflict is also projected to contribute to inflation in the U.S. through the first quarter of 2027, potentially raising it by 0.5 percentage points higher than previously forecast. Additionally, U.S. defense officials have confirmed that the war has led to a significant shortfall in munitions, particularly strategic missiles. Rebuilding the depleted missile stockpile could take up to five years, according to one report. The Department of Defense's inspector general also found that President Trump's "Operation Epic Fury" assault on Iran cost $33.4 billion.
