Odisha rejects early release for Graham Staines' killer
The Odisha government has rejected a plea for the premature release of Dara Singh, who was convicted in the 1999 murder of Australian missionary Graham Staines and his two sons. The decision was communicated by the state's Home Department. Singh, who is serving a life sentence, had sought early release based on his conduct in prison. The case involved the brutal murder of Staines and his sons, Philip and Timothy, in Keonjhar district. Singh was convicted in 2003 for the murders, which occurred in January 1999.
