Rapido fined ₹10 lakh for misleading ads and unfair practices

India's Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has imposed a fine of ₹10 lakh on the ride-hailing service Rapido. The CCPA found Rapido guilty of engaging in misleading advertisements and unfair trade practices. Specifically, the authority cited the use of 'dark patterns' in its pre-ride tipping system. The CCPA's examination of similar practices by Uber and Ola is ongoing.
