Uttar Pradesh Police to get 800 new sub-machine guns
The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the purchase of 800 new 9mm sub-machine guns for the bodyguards of VIPs, including Members of Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly. The approval also includes 373 pistols for women's battalions of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) and 90 assault rifles. The total allocated budget for this procurement is ₹7.59 crore. This move is part of a police modernization plan to equip security personnel with advanced weaponry.
