Russia seizes assets of Nestle and French companies
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on Thursday to transfer the residual assets of Swiss food giant Nestle and three French companies to a firm named LEV Management. The move is seen as a response to Western sanctions against Moscow over the Ukraine conflict. Most Western companies had previously sold their Russian operations following the invasion of Ukraine. Moscow defended the decree, stating it was a response to Western sanctions.
