Aztec Manuscript Returns to Mexico on Loan
A 16th-century Aztec manuscript, known as the Codex Mendoza, has returned to Mexico on loan from France. The manuscript, which depicts Aztec history in pictograms, was displayed in Mexico City on Thursday. It had been in France's National Library for over a century after being taken there nearly two centuries ago. Mexico had previously demanded its return. The current arrangement is a loan, with the manuscript's long-term status unresolved.
