ED Arrests Ghee Supplier Over Alleged Use of Palm Oil in Tirupati Laddu
India's Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested the owner of a ghee supply company in connection with the alleged use of palm oil and chemicals in the preparation of the Tirupati Laddu prasadam. The ED stated that the ghee supplied to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) between 2019 and 2024 was valued at approximately Rs 230 crore. The agency's investigation reportedly found that the laddu prasadam was being made using palm oil and chemicals.
