GST Intelligence busts Rs 30 Crore Tax Evasion at Tobacco Factory
The Goods and Services Tax (GST) Intelligence department conducted a raid on a tobacco and gutkha manufacturing factory in Bhopal. The operation uncovered tax evasion amounting to at least ₹30 crore. During the raid, machinery, raw materials, and finished goods were seized from the 'Guru' brand factory located in New Chaukse Nagar, Navibagh. The initial estimate of the tax evasion was over ₹60 crore, with the potential to exceed ₹100 crore as investigations progress. The owner of the factory has been arrested.
