Government asks Microsoft to place data centers near power sources
India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has asked Microsoft to consider locating future data centers closer to power generation hubs. The stated aim of this move is to cut costs. The MeitY secretary communicated this request to Microsoft.
