Specialist rape courts to be established in England and Wales
Specialist courts for rape and sexual offense cases are to be rolled out across England and Wales. The government stated that funding will allow victims to view proceedings remotely and give evidence from a separate room via video link. The aim is to tackle "shamefully low" prosecution rates and long wait times. These dedicated courtrooms are expected to be in place by 2028. The announcement was made by Burnham.
