ONGC discovers gas in Mahanadi deepwater basin
The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has announced a gas discovery in the deepwater Mahanadi basin off India's eastern coast. The discovery was made at an exploration well drilled to a depth of 1,623 meters beneath the seabed, located approximately 43 kilometers off Konark. This find is part of ONGC's 'Samudra Manthan' initiative and is seen as a significant step towards India's energy self-reliance.
