Telangana Seeks Krishna Water From Karnataka for Irrigation
Telangana has requested Karnataka to release water from the Krishna river, citing potential suffering of standing crops due to a temporary shortfall. The request was made in a letter, urging Karnataka to consider it in the spirit of cooperation between the two states. Separately, in Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu announced plans to link 418 minor irrigation tanks to Krishna water at an estimated cost of ₹439.64 crore to address irrigation and drinking water needs.
