ECI Tells Supreme Court 97% of Bengal Tribunal Appeals Pending
The Election Commission of India (ECI) informed the Supreme Court that 97 percent of appeals before the Bengal State Election Tribunal (SIR) remain pending. The ECI has requested the establishment of 42 tribunals. This comes amidst a clash between the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over voter appeals.
