UK to Launch Agency Against Disinformation and Deepfakes
The UK is establishing a new national center, the National Centre for Information Defence, to combat disinformation and deepfakes. Security chiefs will set up the agency, which aims to counter 'information warfare' from hostile states like Russia. Andy Burnham stated the government has a duty to address the 'poisonous tide' of disinformation and deepfakes, vowing not to 'play Russia's game'.
