Asian Development Bank revises growth outlook citing AI and El Nino risks
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has raised its 2026 growth projection for Asia to 5 percent, an increase of 0.1 percentage points from its July forecast. The ADB noted that the artificial intelligence (AI) boom is contributing to this improved outlook. However, the bank also highlighted risks from El Nino and energy shocks, which it predicts will widen the economic growth gap in developing Asia. India, Malaysia, and Vietnam are identified as countries benefiting from tech exports despite these challenges.
