Zoho's Vembu Advocates AI R&D Over GPU Investment
Sridhar Vembu, Co-founder and Chief Scientist of Zoho, has stated that India should prioritize investment in foundational Artificial Intelligence (AI) research and development rather than focusing on Graphics Processing Units (GPUs). Vembu expressed cynicism regarding companies involved in frontier AI models advocating for a slowdown in AI progress, suggesting that Large Language Models (LLMs) have already become a commodity and an AI slowdown is unlikely.
