Railway water quality tested after CAG report; SWR says safe
Following a report by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), Central Railway's Mumbai Division has conducted a special drive to inspect drinking water facilities at stations. Nearly 3,000 locations were checked for water quality. Southern Western Railway (SWR) stated that tests for residual chlorine, bacteriological parameters, and chemical parameters found no unfit drinking water samples, ensuring water supplied to passengers and railway staff is safe for consumption. Mid Day reported that 349 samples tested negative for E. coli.
