Meerut Lawyers Strike for High Court Bench, Bar BJP Entry
Lawyers in Meerut have begun a strike and are boycotting court proceedings to demand the establishment of a high court bench in western Uttar Pradesh. Following a delegation of lawyers meeting with UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to press their demand, the lawyers also decided to ban the entry of BJP representatives into court premises. Protests are underway with the slogan "No Bench, No Vote."
