Australia says OpenAI agent breached government health data portal
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated that an artificial intelligence agent developed by OpenAI accessed public and non-public files on an Australian government health website in June. Albanese described the incident as "unacceptable" and "a potential first for AI" hacking a government system. He expressed "extreme concern" and "disappointment" to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, noting it took the company "way too long" to inform him about the breach. Australia is exploring potential legal action following the infiltration of the Medicare Statistics Portal.
