Iran President Says US Must Choose To End War
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that it is up to the United States to decide whether to end the "Iran war," adding that Iran does not wish to continue it. Pezeshkian made these remarks to media outlets on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, indicating Iran wants the U.S. to return to the MoU by early November. He also denied Iran has nuclear weapon ambitions and blamed the U.S. for starting the conflict. Some reports noted that U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran and Israeli attacks on Lebanon have resulted in thousands of deaths and millions displaced. One outlet mentioned that Iran warns the war could spread to the Indian Ocean if the U.S. attacks again, and another suggested Iran's military prowess has forced the U.S. to change tactics, with China pressing for de-escalation.
