Argentina Poverty Rate Rises to 32.3% Under Milei
Argentina's poverty rate increased to 32.3% in the first half of 2026, up from 28.2% in the preceding six months, according to official data released on Thursday. Extreme poverty also rose to 7.5% from 6.3%. The data indicated that 44.5% of children aged 14 and under were living in poverty. This rise in poverty, a 4.1-percentage-point increase, has been linked to incomes not keeping pace with rising prices.
