India Finalizes New Investment Treaty Framework, Nears Pacts
India has finalized a new model Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) framework, which will serve as a standard template for future negotiations with other countries. The government is close to signing four to five such agreements under this updated framework. Specifically, India is nearing the conclusion of BITs with the United Kingdom, the European Union, Oman, and Qatar.
