Maharashtra declares drought in 265 talukas amid rainfall deficit
Maharashtra has declared 265 talukas, representing 74% to 75% of the state, as drought-affected following a severe dry spell and rainfall deficit that has crippled crops. Crop surveys have begun to assess farmer losses, and relief measures have been announced for affected farmers. The state has 358 talukas in total.
