Avanti West Coast Rail Services to be Renationalised in March

Avanti West Coast, a major intercity rail operator serving routes including London, Birmingham, and Glasgow, will be renationalised in March. Ministers announced the plan as part of efforts to improve rail infrastructure, reduce train delays, and enhance passenger experiences. The move also includes proposals for new trains to be publicly owned to cut costs. Andy Burnham has welcomed the renationalisation of the service, which has faced criticism.
