Tamil Nadu expands free bus travel for women under Vetri Payanam scheme
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay launched the Vetri Payanam scheme, expanding free bus travel for women. The scheme, announced today, specifies which women are eligible and which bus services are covered. In addition, the National Highways Authority of India introduced barrier‑free tolling in the state to reduce queues and shorten travel time.
