The Indian stock market, including the NSE and BSE, was closed on October 2nd for Gandhi Jayanti. Following this holiday, the market was also closed for the weekend on October 3rd and 4th. Trading resumed on October 5th. The market had experienced an eighth consecutive week of decline prior to this closure.
